Great Park finds plenty
Tue 19 Apr 2016
GREAT PARK, racing beyond 1m for the first time and up another 7lb following his recent narrow Newmarket defeat, was keen enough in a prominent position early but when asked to go and win his race over a furlong out, he found plenty and still had enough in hand to hold off the rallying runner-up. He goes on any ground and this opens up plenty more options with the likelihood of further improvement to come.
QUOTE: Obviously it was a test to see if Great Park could get the mile and a quarter, which he did, but when the ground turned we suddenly thought it might be a stiff task, but actually he did it well. We haven´t got anything in particular in mind for him next. He´s got a few entries, but this win confirms he´s now got to move up to a higher grade. - Martyn Meade, trainer.
