Engrossed takes centre stage in flying Wolves win
Tue 13 Aug 2019
THREE-YEAR-OLD filly Engrossed took centre stage at Wolverhampton as she produced an astonishing finish to win the Class 4 Handicap over 1m and half a furlong on Monday.
When shuffled back to the rear of the field and pushed along by jockey Rob Hornby, victory looked unlikely, however she was angled into clear daylight at the top of the straight and surged home quickest of all to get up on the line and win by a head.
In six starts the daughter of Tamayuz now has two wins and a second to her name as she builds a handy record, and particularly on the Tapeta surface of Wolverhampton. With this her first attempt at a distance of a mile plus, she suggested there could be even more to come as she steps up further in trip.
Well done to the team at Manton Park and jockey Rob Hornby on a fantastic win!
